DISCOVER THE TRIANGLE BODY TYPE
The triangle body type is the second most common body type. This body type has a very narrow waist where there is 9-11 inch difference between the waist and hips . Let’s explore the triangle body type:
The triangle body type has the most definition between the waist and hips than any other body type. On a triangle body type the shoulders are smaller than the hips. Triangles are similar in bust size to the hips and may have long torsos. Triangles are also known as pear shape & bigger on bottom.

If you are a triangle the goal is to create balance by drawing the eye upward and filling out the shoulders. A variation of the triangle is the slight triangle, you look like an hourglass but the measurements show you as a triangle. My best advice is to shop your shape and dress for your body type based on the measurements.
Here are some do’s & don’ts:
- wear tops or jackets with detail or heavier fabrics
- wear dark colors on bottom & light colors on top
- wear bootcut or flare leg bottoms to balance hips
- Use boat necks to extend shoulder line
- wear tops and shirts that hit directly at the waistband
- wear pleating or gathering at waistband
- avoid side pockets
