DISCOVER THE HOURGLASS BODY TYPE
Oh the Hourglass body type!!! This is the body type that most women covet and only few actually have. And being an hourglass doesn’t come without it’s own set of wardrobe challenges. Let’s explore the hourglass body type:
The Hourglass body type is all about balance and the shoulders and hips align. The waist is well defined which means there is a 7-10 inch difference between the waist and hips. The waist smoothly curves out to the hips

If you are a hourglass the goal is to accentuate the curves without over doing it. The last thing you want to do is define your waist so much that you look disproportionate. Choosing clothing that follows the natural curves of your body is ideal.
Here are some do’s & don’ts:
- maintain balance on top & bottom
- wear garments that fit close to the body
- use pattern detail & unique necklines to show off proportions
- wear garments that are too flowy, your figure will get lost
- buy pants that have side slant pockets, they will bow out & make your hips look bigger
- avoid boxy & stiff fabrics
