Last week I shared Valentine’s Date Look for Hourglass & Triangle body types. This week I am sharing the perfect Valentine’s Date Look for the Rectangle & Inverted Triangle. Use my tips to look amazing while accentuating all your great features for Valentine’s day. Today, I’m helping you take the guess work out of what to wear to your romantic date!
Rectangle Body Type
The Rectangle Body type is characterized by having:
- no defined waist or little waist definition
- straight hips & bottom
- straight shoulders through ribcage
- average tummy size
The goal with a rectangle body type is to create a waist line or hide your tummy, depending on your body size. Some people with a rectangle body can also be known as an apple shape, hence hiding your tummy because that is where you carry your weight. People without the tummy but still have straight lines through shoulders to hips are also known as having an athletic or boy figure.
Empire waist dresses are great for the rectangle body type. They create the illusion of a waist by synching right below the bust above the waist. The fabric flows over the tummy masking what doesn’t need to be accentuated. They also are great for the athletic rectangle body type too! They create the illusion of a waist for this type also and thus giving your body curves!
I love the light pink lace empire dress for this Valentine’s Date Look. I know it looks cream in this picture but I promise it is light pink. I went for a monochromatic pink look. I paired this dress with pink swarovski crystal earrings & bracelet. The magenta shoes pull the look together with the white glitter clutch. Find the complete look here.
Inverted Triangle Body Type
The Inverted Triangle Body type is characterized by having:
- bottom half is smaller than top half
- flat hips & bottom
- straight & square shoulder line
- little to no definition between waist and hips
The goal with an inverted triangle body type is to bring balance among your top half and bottom half.
Shift dresses are great for an inverted triangle body type. They hang from the shoulders straight down over the hips hiding the fact they are smaller than the shoulders.
I love this coral orange color! This dress is perfect for a Valentine’s Date look and can easily be worn into spring & summer! I paired it with white pumps, gold jewelry and a leopard clutch. Find the complete look here.
Don’t have a rectangle or an inverted triangle body type? Don’t worry, I shared outfits on the last post for the Hourglass and Triangle body types. Check it out here!
