Here at The Body Type Stylist, I will be sharing how to build your wardrobe by your body type. I call this The Wardrobe Recipe! I build curated wardrobes for each body type throughout the year. You can shop looks from The Wardrobe Recipe under the Shop Your Type section at the top or in the links in the post. Today in The Wardrobe Recipe I am adding pieces for the fall season. Fall is one of my favorite times of year! I love busting out the boots, some plaid and a pumpkin spice latte!
THE WARDROBE RECIPE
HOURGLASS
The Hourglass Recipe calls for showing off the curves! Whether that is with a wrap dress or figure hugging dress you will look stunning in any of these pieces. One of my favorites is this blush wrap peplum top. Pair it with the green leggings or skinny jeans.
INVERTED TRIANGLE
The Inverted Triangle Recipe emphasizes bringing balance among the hips & shoulders. The asymmetrical lines on the dresses help de-emphasize the shoulders. I chose these tops because it brings the eye toward the hips instead of up at the shoulders. Inverted Triangles are blessed with being able to wear pleats and it actually be flattering! I love the green skirt!
RECTANGLE
The Rectangle Recipe for fall is to create the illusion of a waist or to hide it. I picked these dresses for that reason! I picked the gray dress for a client a couple months ago and it looked phenomenal. The versatility of it is amazing! Pair it with heels & a chunky necklace and you have an evening look. Throw a jean jacket over it and slip into a pair of converse and you are ready for a playdate! The tops I chose camouflage the tummy area and will pair great with any of the bottoms.
TRIANGLE
The Triangle Recipe is geared toward minimizing the hips. This can be done in so many ways, especially when the waist is accentuated. Fit & Flare or A line dresses keep the eye drawn toward the waist & upwards. I also love doing this with different types of tops. Blazers are one of my favorite things to add to a triangle’s fall wardrobe. They can be thrown over anything from a plain white tee to a printed button down. Bottoms that flare are great at masking any problems areas around the hips, that is why I chose a A line midi skirt and flare jeans.
The Wardrobe Recipe will be back soon with affordable fall accessories!
