The floral jumpsuit is everywhere! I finally took the plunge and got one. I have to admit that I had been resistant because I wasn’t sure if I could or wanted to pull it off. After seeing so many pretty choices I finally bought one! Now I am totally into this trend and I’m sharing how you can pull it off too. The floral jumpsuit by body type is here!
I had a ladies brunch and I wanted to wear something fun and unique! I found this jumpsuit at Dillard’s and fell in love! The print and how it accentuated my waist made it the perfect choice for me.
I paired it with nude pumps because I wanted the floral jumpsuit to be the focus. That’s the same reason I kept the clutch and jewelry neutral.
The Floral Jumpsuit By Body Type
The hourglass, rectangle, inverted triangle & triangle body type can all pull this look off and I am going to teach you how. I gathered inspiration from my beautiful friends and am showing off the floral jumpsuit by body type with their help. Not sure your body type? Discover it here.
The rectangle body type‘s shoulders, waist & hips all align so to pull off the floral jumpsuit you want to pick one that gives you a waist, which gives the illusion of curves. Detail at the shoulders is also a nice touch but not necessary.
Brittani from By Brittani Lauren wears this floral jumpsuit beautifully. It gives her a waist and the halter top accentuates the upper half of her body and gives her body beautiful curves. Check out her full post here.
Emily, from Life with Emily had the same thoughts as me, that she couldn’t pull off a jumpsuit. Wasn’t’ she wrong!?!?!?!? I love how she picked a jumpsuit that accentuated her waist and the colors are so fun! Check out her full look here.
Are you a rectangle body type? Here are some jumpsuits I think will work for you!
The hourglass body type has shoulders and hips that align with a very defined waist (two or more inches smaller than hips & shoulders). You want to look for a jumpsuit that defines your waist and accentuate your curves. Be cautious when picking one to make sure you don’t over accentuate either your shoulder or hips. You run the risk of appearing larger than you are. An example of this is picking a jumpsuit with a huge ruffle at the shoulders or big pockets at the hips.
McKenna from The Bubbly Blonde wore this gorgeous green palm print jumpsuit and it looks amazing on her! It shows off her waist and compliments her hourglass figure beautifully. She paired it with gold jewelry, which I LOVE! Check out her outfit details here.
I am an hourglass too! I picked this jumpsuit because I liked the details at the shoulders, the defined waist and the deep pockets at the hips. Each area has a detail, complimenting the hourglass figure beautifully.
The triangle body type has shoulders and waist measurements that are smaller than the hip measurement. When looking for a jumpsuit find one that has a little shoulder detail or that has thin straps so your shoulders are being shown off. This will create balance.
Anna from The Styled Fox pulls this look off effortlessly! I love how she added a hat and big sunnies to complement the look and draw the eye up. Check out all her outfit details here. P.s. I’m crushing on that pink clutch she paired with it!
Have y’all met Emily yet? She is just darling in this pink off the shoulder jumpsuit. Off the shoulders are perfect for triangle body types! It shows the shoulders off and takes the eyes away from the hip! She let her jumpsuit be the focus and kept details simple in black. Check the full look out here.
An Inverted Triangle has a shoulder measurement that is larger than the waist and hips. It’s best to keep the focus off the shoulders and add volume to the lower half to create that balance.
I’ve picked out some jumpsuits that I think will work great for the inverted triangle. Shop them here:
Now that I’ve covered the floral jumpsuit by body type, I am moving onto a new trend, or will it be a classic piece? Stay tuned and find out soon!
